We are all very similar to a mandala in the sense that we stand at the center of our own circle and form things as they come into our lives. Everything we see or hear can and will become a part of the mandala of our lives.

The mandala serves as a reminder of the cycles of life, the universes infinitude, and so much more. For those who are not aware the word ‘mandala’ itself comes from the Sanskrit word ‘circle.’ These things have been used for a very long time as a ritual tool in many cultures across the globe. The mandala can be a powerful meditation tool if used properly.

If you want to create your own mandala experience you have come to the right place. You see, by focusing on the beautiful design your mind will not have room for irritating thoughts to squeeze their way in. The hypnotic state that we are able to reach during this will give us a better understanding of ourselves and the things going on around us in this life.

In order to meditate on a mandala choose one that you connect with the most and set an intention on which you would like to focus. Your intention can be anything you want it to be, for example, something in your life you would like clarity on. You can simply stare into the intricacy of a complete mandala focusing on the design each time you feel yourself being drawn away or try your hand at creating your own mandala.

When creating your own mandala you can either start from nothing and design the whole thing or color a premade mandala. You will have to begin in the same way sorting out your intent but the rest should go the same. Focus on the mandala and allow yourself to go into a meditative state. just be, breathe in and out. Choose colors that match your intentions and create something beautiful.

Leave all judgment behind and if need be put on some relaxing music. This is not about how perfect the mandala turns out but creating something from within and becoming more aware of where you need to go from here. When you finish your mandala put it where you can see it daily. This will carry your intent and bring focus to it each time you see it.

This is a nurturing experience that everyone can benefit from. In this, you will gain much more than you might think and come out with a whole new perspective on things. Each layer brings about more peace and strength. Creating mandalas is satisfying in more ways that I can say.
