A small community in Melbourne, Australia is pushing some new regulations for street signs regarding gender equality; the result – some people claim that it is sexist.

The new regulation is pushing for female symbols on the traffic signs – however, some people have become quite offended by it, and it has stirred quite a controversy. People are claiming that it is sexist because the female symbol is wearing a dress – which implies that women can’t wear pants.

When you think of gender equality you usually think of the wage gap or workplace harassment. I believe that the move is a good one, while a bit pointless. However, they are doing it. The mere fact that they are now offended by the attire of the figure seems a bit melodramatic, but that is only my personal opinion. What do you think?
