When it comes to relationships usually we will deal with a lot, but there are a few things that just seem to completely ruin everything. Could you be killing your relationship without noticing?

A new study covers something known as ‘phubbing.’ Yes, ‘phubbing’ this is a term used to refer to people who ignore others because they are too interested in their cell phones. We all know someone glued to their cell phone. Social media and cell phones in general really can be addicting.

This study comes from Baylor University and has found that chronic use of your cell phone can lead to higher levels of depression as well as creating more than enough friction to tear your romantic lives apart. ‘Phubbing’ can literally ruin the foundation of our relationships. Researchers found that those who reported being unhappy were the ones using their phones most of the time. This is something that can completely change your personality. As well as make your partner feel ignored and unimportant.

If you feel like your partner is requesting for you to spend time with them without your cell phone, don’t think they are being an asshole, they just want to spend time with you and have some of your attention. We live in a world focused on technology and for most of us our social interactions online are important, but that does not mean we should forget about the here and now. We all need to learn that moderation is key in all aspects of our lives. We can have the best of both worlds if we take the time to consider the feelings of those around us.
