I am a mother, my world revolves around my children. My home is hectic, to say the least, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
For the most part, I adore everything about my life. I enjoy being needed and I am so in love with everything that my children are and will be. I love that my problem-solving skills seem like the best thing in the world in their eyes. I love how they look at me knowing I am going to help them through whatever life throws their way.
But that does not mean that I don’t enjoy the moments of silence. I am sensitive and it is sometimes hard for me to find the proper way to react to all the things happening around me. I am surrounded by emotions and at times I let it consume me. I have found that meditating is something that I cannot live my life without. I need meditation in order to stay grounded through the chaos that is life.
Because of this, I can be centered even in moments where I feel like everything is falling apart. Becoming a mother at such a young age changed my world completely but I found a new love for this world in the time that I was pregnant and even now I am still discovering more and more love with each day that passes by. Motherhood is a true gift we all seem to underappreciate. Yes, babies require a lot of care and they can be overwhelming at times but they are worth it.
I have had and will continue to have my moments of fear as our life continues on, this is something we must all deal with and accept. It is something we cannot change. As my babies progressed into toddlers and were almost ready to begin school of course, meditating became almost impossible. They were up before the sun and eager to show me the things they were learning, they were hungry, they needed to be changed, or they just wanted their mommy.
My children have always been curious as most children are. They ask questions, they want to be shown how to do things first hand, and they always need explanations no matter how easy the answer seems. I can tell you firsthand the questions never stop coming.
“Why does the sun go down, mommy?”
“Where does it go when it’s away?”
“What if it doesn’t come back. mommy?”
Back in those days, the only time I had to meditate was when I was in bed. My children have always known sleep was important and of course much like I do they need their rest as well. I have good kids, they are respectful and always well mannered. At this point, when I was not in bed I was cooking, cleaning, waiting on my children’s every need. Though I am not complaining, I chose to be a mother and I am a good one.
In that time I found that waking up about thirty minutes before normal and meditation then was the best way to start my day, ‘beditating.’ I still do this every single day and it has made a huge difference in my life. I am much more grounded by doing this. Being a mom can get tiring, if you want to beditate please follow the steps below. Don’t let the world get you down, your children love you more than you will ever know.
How to beditate:
Step 1
Set your alarm for about thirty minutes before you would normally wake up. When the alarm goes off give yourself a few minutes to wake up.
Step 2
Then sit up in bed and relax. Let go of everything you’re dealing with in life right now. Think about yourself, let yourself know that this is your alone time and that you deserve it.
Step 3
Take three slow breaths and place your hands on your tummy, be aware of your breathing, Inhale and exhale.
Step 4
Continue feeling your breathing and focus on yourself, the spaciousness of your brain and how relaxed you are becoming. Do not stress, let go of any worries you may have.
Step 5
Stay awake, do not fall back asleep. Continue exploring the depths of your mind. Stay relaxed and go wherever your mind wants to take you.
Step 6
Once you have done this for twenty or thirty minutes it is time to get up and start your day.
Don’t automatically cast this idea off. Beditating really does help a lot. This is something I cannot go without doing, not even for one single day. I hope you find relief in doing this and enjoy it. Don’t stress about whether you are doing this the correct way, there is no wrong way to do this. If you feel more relaxed and at ease, throughout your day you are doing exactly what you need to be doing.
