Lying within each and every one of us is an energetic pathway that carries emotions throughout our body and properly releases them. Unfortunately, this pathway can become blocked, causing emotions to become stuck inside of us for long periods of time, but this can be easily corrected with the following tips.

This pathway is also known as our Chakras. Starting at the tip of our head and ending at the base of our spine, 7 major energy centers lie throughout our body containing their own vibrational frequencies which are typically depicted in color. Each “Chakra”, meaning wheel in Sanskrit, govern specific emotions, and also aid in the function of each of your physical bodily organs.

Root Chakra

  • Location: Base of Spine
  • Functions: Safety, grounding, and right to live.

Sacral Chakra

  • Color: Orange
  • Location: Lower Abdomen
  • Functions: Emotions, creativity, sexuality

Solar Plexus Chakra

  • Color: Yellow
  • Location: Stomach
  • Functions: Will, social self, power

Heart Chakra

  • Color: Green
  • Location: Chest
  • Functions: Compassion, love, integration

Throat Chakra

  • Color: Blue
  • Location: Neck
  • Function: Personal truth, etheric, expression

  • Function: Extrasensory perception, intuition, inspiration

Crown Chakra

  • Color: Purple
  • Location: Top of your head
  • Function: Wisdom, transcendence, universality

We all have experienced stress, pain, trauma and fear at one point in our lives or another. If you can think back to that particular time, can you remember feeling completely worn down, and disconnected? Sometimes, when we experience these emotions, the temporary block of energy can become a continuous one, and these energies and traumas can cause an imbalance that starts within the root and sacral chakras.

Our root chakra is what grounds us, and the sacral chakra is where we process emotions. Once these areas become unbalanced and blocked, other emotions and tensions will start to build up, and in turn, many of our other chakras will start to become unbalanced as well. Since each of these areas determines how we process various thoughts, and also affect our health, it is no wonder that there is such a huge connection between stress and bad health….or that when you break down the word disease, you have two words: dis ease.

So how do we begin the process of bringing our energy centers back into balance, thus clearing our energetic pathway and working towards better mental and physical health? It’s actually quite simple

Chakra Salt

Sea salt and Epsom salts are one of the quickest, and easiest methods for the balancing of your energies and chakras. Simply draw a hot bath, add salts, and relax. Salt is a natural way to regulate the water balance within our bodies and works to remove toxins, both emotional and physical.

Chakra Exercises

Yoga and meditation are both wonderful for releasing blocks within our energetic fields. It is also important to remember to drink plenty of water along with these exercises, as it will flush out the toxins you release. Music is also helpful, as it is vibrational energy that you can use to correspond to each chakra inside of you, and chakra healing music can be easily found through iTunes or Google.

Each individual crystal contains energetic properties that can be used to balance and empower your chakras. Similar to how music can vibrate on a specific frequency that will cause certain chakras to respond, each chakra responds to a different crystal.

Although it may seem odd that energy can have such a massive effect on our entire well-being, if you think about it, it only makes sense. We are energetic beings that are composed of the same energy that flows throughout everything and everyone around us. Simple interactions, or experiences in our lifetime can easily throw our own personal energetic qualities for a loop, and similar to dominoes, it can escalate quite quickly depending on the circumstance. Once emotions get blocked inside of our bodies due to an imbalance our entire emotional well-being is at stake, and we must take action. Thankfully, bringing ourselves back into balance is simple, and only take a few moments out of our day, and it is completely worth it.
